Manulife Place, built in 1983, was the tallest tower in Edmonton, Alberta at 146 meters, until the completion of Epcor Tower in 2011. With an all glass façade, Manulife Place had a Building Maintenance Unit (BMU) installed during construction that had reached the end of its lifespan and needed to be replaced.

ATLAS, in partnership with Manntech, designed, supplied, installed and certified a BMU onto the existing perimeter track, complete with new mullion guides to fit into the existing mullion  tracks for platform stabilization. ATLAS worked closely with the building owner and operators to ensure that the new BMU satisfied their maintenance needs.

ATLAS managed the Co-ordination work between several subcontractors which was essential to ensure that the project went smoothly. From dismantle and disposal of the existing BMU, to hoisting, assembly, and full operational testing of the new Manntech BMU
