    Oakridge/Cambie area is considered an urban gem at the hub of popular transportation and transit networks, and has been subject to redevelopment talks for most of the past decade.

    Named after the street number 1061 Marine Drive, the X61 is a 4 stories 48 units building sitting in the Norther Vancouver’s busiest pedestrian friendly neighborhood with convenient shopping on the ground level.

    The mix-use development meets the goals of the new “Marine Drive Improvements Strategy” which are to encourage more desirable land use mix, a high quality of building and street scape, and improve the pedestrian environment.

    Atlas worked with building structural engineer to ensure a reinforcement detail was created for wood frame roof that would satisfy all engineering and load requirements.

    Developed by Rize Alliance Properties and as B+H as the architect, this 146,000 sf. 7 storey office building is Canada Agency’s new Lower Mainland HQ, which is moving 800 area employees in stages. The building is custom-designed for CRA, with open floor plans and plenty of natural lighting and ventilation.
    False Creek Flats has undergone a significant transformation and is now a bustling commercial hub offering companies a low-cost alternative to downtown, and its proximity to transit and highways. Today the area is home to, among others: Centre for Digital Media, Emily Carr University and Mountain Equipment Co-op, and high-end car dealerships like Porsche, Mercedes-Benz and Acura. Columbia College occupies the first Containers building.

    Atlas staff worked closely with client to ensure this is the most cost effective solution for full coverage, and critical construction timelines were achieved.

    Located at the corner of East 6th & Scotia, The Wohlsein is a solid concrete building developed by the Jameson Development Group, who have previously done the Jameson House Downtown, Sesame in Renfrew, the Wing Sang Building in Chinatown etc. It is built to LEED standards with architecture by IBI/HB Architects, and constructed by MetroCan. Its heritage brick cladding blends seamlessly with the heritage buildings with which it shares 6th Avenue.

    Atlas designed a system fall protection system with full coverage: Rooftop Maintenance, Bosun Chair Window Washing, and Power Platform.

    The John Paul II Pastoral Centre is a unique building recently built on the former site where St Vincents
    Hospital stood for 65 years. Using a combination of parapet embedded wall anchors and rope guides
    embedded into the underside of the concrete eyebrows, ATLAS was able to solve the design challenge of
    bosun’s chair workers needing to position their suspension points at a distance from the windows to
    effectively perform maintenance operations.

    Manulife Place, built in 1983, was the tallest tower in Edmonton, Alberta at 146 meters, until the completion of Epcor Tower in 2011. With an all glass façade, Manulife Place had a Building Maintenance Unit (BMU) installed during construction that had reached the end of its lifespan and needed to be replaced.

    ATLAS, in partnership with Manntech, designed, supplied, installed and certified a BMU onto the existing perimeter track, complete with new mullion guides to fit into the existing mullion  tracks for platform stabilization. ATLAS worked closely with the building owner and operators to ensure that the new BMU satisfied their maintenance needs.

    ATLAS managed the Co-ordination work between several subcontractors which was essential to ensure that the project went smoothly. From dismantle and disposal of the existing BMU, to hoisting, assembly, and full operational testing of the new Manntech BMU
